This calendar offers you a twelve month wedding planning calendar to  help you with your upcoming wedding plans.  Print this out to help you follow our suggestions of what and when you need to do things for your wedding.

               

NINE TO TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE:

1.  Learn the facts about diamonds, and find the engagement ring.

2.  Propose

3.  Set an initial budget.

4.  Select a wedding date.

5.  Announce your engagement in the newspaper.

6.  Determine the type of wedding you want (day/night, indoor/outdoor, formal/casual).

7.  Research availability of reception locations.

8.  Select  your reception location, or get a tent if that is what  you decided upon.

9.  Find a caterer if not already provided by the reception facility.

10.  Research availability of ceremony locations, if not included with your reception site.

11.  Select and book your cermony location.

12.  Determine who will officiate at the ceremony, if not provided with the ceremony location.

13.  Determine how many guests you wish to invite.

14.  Set aside blocks of hotel/motel rooms for out-of-town guests.

15.  Get a band or D.J. and get one early because they get booked very quickly.  Ask them if they have samples of their work for you to listen to or ask for references.

16.  Decide if you want a bridal party, and if so , then how large.

17.  Start to research your bridal gowns.

18.  Start to research the grooms formal wear/tuxedo.

19.  Start to research bridesmaids' dresses.

20.  Start to research formal wear for the groomsmen.

21.  Compare and find a photographer.

22.  Comppare and find videographer.

23.  Find local florist and set appointments to look at their work.

24.  Be sure that you get a contract from all the professionals you choose.

25.  Create a bridal registry and/or an engagement registry.

26.  Visit bridal shows.  Check the schedule of upcoming bridal shows in your area.

SIX TO NINE MONTHS BEFORE:

1.  Start completing the guest list (Inform your families to do the same).

2.  Select the attendant for your wedding party.

3.  Purchase the bride's gown.

4.  Purchase/rent the groom's tuxedo.

5.  Purchase the bridesmaid's dresses.

6.  Arrange for your groomsmen to be measured and reserve the tuxedos.  If your groomsmen do not live close to the formal wear shop you chose, tell them to go to a local shop. Most will measure them as a courtesy.

7.  Shop for the wedding dress, headpiece, veil, and other accessories.

8.  Start planning for the honeymoon.  Research your destination.

9.  Choose and reserve your florist.

10.  Order the wedding cake, if not provided by the caterer or reception hall.

11.  The parents of the groom should begin to arrange the Rehearsal Dinner, and reserve a restaurant or make other arrangements.

12.  Arrange for transportation for the wedding.  Limousines, Horse and Carriage,  etc .

FOUR TO SIX MONTHS BEFORE:

1.  Make apointments for physical exams with your doctor/dentist.

2.  Check requirements for blood test and marriage license in yuor state.

3.  Shop for wedding rings, if you havent done so already.

4.  Select and  order the invitiations and stationery.

5.  Make sure all the men's attire has been ordered.

6.  Decide where to live after the wedding.

7.  Complete the guest lists.

8.  Begin shopping for trousseau.

9.  Send your engagement announcement to the newspaper.

10.  Inform mothers to select their dresses.

11.  Select and order the men's attire.

12.  Finalize honeymoon details and make the necessary reservations .

TWO TO FOUR MONTHS BEFORE:

1.  Confirm the menu and catering details with the caterer.

2.  Prepare all maps and directions for the ceremony and reception.

3.  Select yor wedding rings.

4.  Buy a wedding guest book.

5.  Set the dates and times with the officiant for the rehearsal.

6.  Plan the bridesmaids' luncheon and any other parties.

7.  Determine your resources for designing and printing the program for the ceremony.

8.  Finalize the florist details, photographer, videographer, musicians, etc.

9.  Arrange the necessary accomodations for out-of-town guests.

10.  Plan a rehearsal dinner, time and place.

11.  Confirm the wedding cake details with the baker.

FOUR TO SIX WEEKS BEFORE:

1.  Decide what your menu is going to be for the reception.  Estimate the expected number of guests.

2.  Buy a gift for the groom .

3.  Schedule a final fitting for your gown so it can be ready for your formal bridal portrait.

4.  Purchase a going away outfit.

5.  Pick up  your wedding rings.

6.  Purchase or borrow all wedding accessories such as the ring pillow, goblets, garter belt, candles, etc.

7.  Confirm florist details and delivery times.

8.  Plan the seating for the reception as well as other details for the ceremony and reception.

9.  Start writing placement cards.

10.  Make sure all bridesmaids' attire has been fitted.

11.  Buy a gift for the bride.

12.  Chose the music for your ceremony, first dance, parent dances, and party and give information to band, D.J. , or other musicians.

TWO WEEKS BEFORE:

1.  Make arrangments to have your wedding gifts moved to your new home.

2.  Handle business and legal details such as name changes, address changes, etc.

3.  Prepare the wedding announcement for the newspaper.

4.  Reconfirm your guests' accomodations .

5.  Make sure all clothing and accessories for you and the bridal party are ready.

6.  Get your marriage license and any blood tests which are needed.

ONE WEEK BEFORE:

1.  Review any seating details with the ushers.

2.  Make sure all wedding attire fits.

3.  Finalize the seating arrangements.

4.  Reconfirm your honeymon reservations.  Ensure you have any necessary plane tickets.

5.  Start packing for your honeymoon.

6.  Call any guests who have not responded yet.

7.  Finalize all the place cards for the reception.

8.  Review all the final details with your photographer, videographer etc.

9.  Give a final head count to the caterer.

10.  Conform the availability of the musicians and vocalists. 

11.  Delegate responsibilties to reliable individuals on your wedding day.

12.  Wrap and present the wedding party gifts.

13.  Finalize your rehearsal dinner arrangements or other plans.

ONE DAY BEFORE:

1.  Get a manicure or massage to relax yourself.

2.  Stay with your family the night before and sleep early.

3.  Review and rehearse all the details for your participants.

1.  Make sure the best man and maid of honor sign the wedding certificate.

2.  Allow yourself plenty of time to get dressed.

3.  Be sure to eat properly.

4.  Rest and relax with a good bath.
